The jump blues that MoPac and The Blue Suburbans plays can be traced back as far as the 1890s with its beginnings in America's southern rural communities. By the `30s and `40s, the blues style migrated to urban areas.

During the `40s, the era of the Big Band and the Jitterbug, new recording techniques and radio broadcasting of live performances moved more music into more homes. Add to that the fact that swing bands were touring the country and building a huge following with thousands of fans. Then out of swing came. . . JUMP!

Jump bands didn't have the room or money to have a full orchestra of the big bands of the era, so they were pared down to upright bass, drums, guitar, piano, and sometimes horns. With the advent of amplifiers, these smaller bands could get any roadhouse jumping.

MoPac and The Blue Suburbans are happy to continue the traditions today with unique twist on both traditional and original Jump, Rock and Blues tunes. It's time to get on your feet and dance.
